Alfredo Dreyfus, President of Aero-Zone, shares his thoughts on the current state of Aviation in 2020

It is no secret that 2020 has been a year like no other, Affecting every aspect of society on a global scale. People consistently ask our team at Aero-Zone “what does Alfredo think about everything that is going on,” so we sat down with Alfredo and asked him to share his thoughts on the state of Aero-Zone and the aviation industry as a whole:
Aero-Zone Marketing: After 30+ years in aviation, what about it motivates you to keep going, especially in years like 2020?
Alfredo Dreyfus: I genuinely love my job, and I love the aviation community. We are a resilient and optimistic bunch. And once you have the bug for aviation, there’s not much you can do about it…even in years like 2020.
Aero-Zone Marketing: What areas in the industry are you optimistic about presently?
Alfredo Dreyfus: Well, at the macro level, I’m most optimistic of a strong V-shaped recovery, probably sometime next year. I’m also optimistic that Aero-Zone’s years of slow, organic growth will pay off now, when we most need it. Hopefully, all the planning we’ve done puts us in a position to withstand the current downturn and come back even stronger when this is all over.
Aero-Zone Marketing: What are the differences between how the commercial aviation industry recovered after 9.11, or the 2008-09 Housing Crisis, vs. how it will recover from COVID?
Alfredo Dreyfus: This time around, with the various governmental assistance programs worldwide, and for as long as the economy has been strong, many companies were extended a lifeline to help them position themselves to get through it. Commercial aviation has definitely been one of the hardest hit and, through all this, there are still silver linings. We can already begin to see light at the end of the tunnel.
Aero-Zone Marketing: How do all of your friends feel about flying? Do they feel safe?
Alfredo Dreyfus: Oh yeah, very safe. So do ALL of my aviation friends as they’re all travelling as much as they can. I am included in that list. My family and I traveled for fall break and will be traveling for Thanksgiving this year, and we’re all looking forward to getting back on an airplane soon.
Aero-Zone Marketing: How do you stay positive personally and how do you keep your employees engaged during this time?
Alfredo Dreyfus: Great question. We find ways all day to bring value to our efforts and purpose to our presence. And by optimizing our efforts, staying efficient in our tasks, and covering as much ground as possible, we are able to continually create much needed cash flow for Aero-Zone. Additionally, by staying true to the company’s principals, we are able to provide a very valuable service to our customers worldwide who rely on us; not only is that our main objective, but it’s honestly gratifying too.
Aero-Zone Marketing: Anything else you would like our aviation colleagues to know?
Alfredo Dreyfus: Although the aircraft part markets are still unstable, our demand from our customers has started to grow again. To meet that growing demand, Aero-Zone continues to buy inventory. If you have inventory for sale, please be sure to reach out to us!
Aero-Zone Marketing: Thanks for sitting down with us!
